A Tribute to Grandmaster Choo

It seems kinda funny to write about your average golfer who happens to be a golfing buddy of mine. But my posts have never suited the norm anyway. “A great golfer is grandmaster Choo” remarked a friend of mine. Mind you, he is a real beginner at golf and sharing a round with him for a seasoned golfer is not easy to digest. The frequent tops and fats, the one ball lost per hole can really affect your game. But does it affect the grand master? The answer is no. He happily goes along, trying his utmost best to locate the wayward shot. Pinpointing with extreme accuracy of the place where the ball landed. His remark, “It’s between the 4th tree on the right where the hazard marker is”. And true enough, you will see it there.

European Golfers on the rise

padraig harrington, of ireland may 5th 2007There you have it! Hasn’t the signs been showing? For the past few Ryder Cup meetings, the European has been whipping the US teams. And finally, the change has come. The winner of the Open Championship is none other than Padraig Harrington. And who was involved in the play-off and posted the nearest challenge, Sergio Garcia. What am I on about? The fact that everyone thought, excuse me, 90% of the golfing population thought the Claret Jug would be in Tiger’s hands by now or Phil Mickelson. Why blame them, so did I!

Golf Mannerism is a must!!!

Disclaimer: The identity of the golfers in this post is changed to protect the guilty.

I got a real case of neck pain today. Why! Coz I can’t understand how some people can call themselves golfers. That’s why! Oh Yeah, occasionally you guys can control your temper and some let fly once in a while. Hey, that’s fine by me but have you no manners? My Sunday golf was really being tested to the limit this week. We were playing with Mr. Shitt and grandmaster Choo. It turned out to be real farce! Let me tell you why….

Bangi Golf Resort

flora and faunaDearest readers, as promised in the Olaf @ Golf tournament post, these are some of the pics that I have taken during the tournament. Sorry it took so long. My site admin told me that my pics were too terrible to publish but did manage to salvage a few pics here and there. Before the start I took this photo to show the beautiful scenery that Bangi Golf Resort has. The flora and fauna of this golf course is impeccable.

Golf- is an ego trip

It surprises me to know that many golfers out there have an attitude that I will presume to call “ego trip attitude.” Is that why there are so many people out there presumably with the same mentality? Is “golf” a trip to your superior self? Perhaps it is the reason why so many golfers take it out on their clubs.

Olafbounds gets 5th placing @ Golf tournament

Aha! Just when you thought that Olaf is a mere passenger for a golf tournament! Olaf has proven the critics wrong or have they been proven right? After the previous post on tournament preparation, Golfnick decided to try his luck on joining a small tournament. Okay, so it wasn’t a big USGA tournament but a small step nevertheless. I used up all my skills during this tournament and actually got a 5th placing. Not bad for a 20-handicapper. But I shot a 41 and 49 for a nett score of 90. Did I deserve the win? Hard to say actually. I did everything wrong for instance.

The Perfect Build for Golf

What is the perfect build for a golfer? Barring a real handicap (no offense), anyone with a normal body frame will suit the bill. A number of beginners and even veteran golfers have asked this question; but is there an answer for everyone. Let’s look at some extreme examples.19 The long hitter.

Mr. John “Grip it and Rip it” Daly is a good example. Famous more for his outburst and “beautiful” quotes; his build has never been in question, has it? This man can really rip them. And to those non-believers, who believes that golfers with large frames have a difficulty with their shot game. This man has great hands and his shot game is quite exceptional.
