Ernie Els changes eqiupment

March 2nd, 2007 by Olaf Bound.s

The big “easy” recently switched equipment. Apparently in the Johnnie Walker held in Phuket, Thailand. It has been reported that he has switched camp from Titlelist to Callaway. I think it is a good move by him.

I remember when a few years back, he swapped clubs from Taylormade and was in his best form. When he switched to Titleist, he gained tremendous distances from his then new driver. But after that he hasn’t made much progress for the past two years, has he! A couple of missed opportunities for majors! (Real understatement) But I’m betting we could be in for a treat.

It has been much written that this is the man who could still challenge Tiger (sorry Phil, Jim, Vijay lovers). I believe, he can still do it. He recovers as well as Tiger but is it only me that notices that his putting is terrible. It’s like torture to see him miss putt after putt. But until he wins the next major, one can only hope for the best for ‘good old Ernie’. You have my moral support! By the way he shot a 2-over round. That makes him 9 strokes behind the leader.
