Golf is a way of life!
June 13th, 2007 by Olaf Bound.sI never thought that I would say this. When Olaf started to golf about 5 years ago, I believe now that it really is a tell tale sign of your character when one golfs. When I started, my temper was terrible. Hence my swing! I threw more clubs in disgust at the slightest frustration. My swing was relatively the same; A long way over the top plus a very big lash at the ball. Comes back to the same question, is golf a way of life? It certainly dictates the way a golfer swings his club. Let’s see a few examples of golfers.
- The meticulous golfer…….. is a very damn near perfectionist. The way he dresses, the way he addresses the club, the way he marks his ball and a strict play-by-the-rules guy. Ever played with such a person? I’m sure most of us have! He demands absolute silence when he putts.
- The Nature Lover……. is a very slow golfer. Why? If you ever stop and smell the flowers in between shots, that’s fine but when he goes looking for the ball and returning 15 minutes later. You tell me!
- The Easy Goer…. is a great golfer with many friends. Very relaxed over the rules. Hits a shot out of bounds, drops the ball immediately and adds the necessary strokes. Jokes whilst he golf. Never ever throwing his clubs. Never improving his game either.
- The prodigious talent…. is the most favorite to throw a tantrum or a club. Swings better than all his golfing partner. Scores even better. But always complaining that he hasn’t played to his level yet. Yeah, like a 58 is hit all the time.
- The Mr. Nice Guy…… is the guy whose score can never be counted on. Why? He spent more time trying to please everyone including himself. BEWARE!!
- The Business Associate…. is the guy whose asking you why you haven’t covered your insurance properly. In between shots, he keeps asking your income level and what your profession is.
- I’m the pro, ask me guy…. claims to know everything about his swing and yours. Has an answer to all your golfing woes! Curing your slice, reading a putt and even knowing your score!
Sorry if I haven’t covered everyone! Hey! Everyone’s a critic but that’s golf and a way of life.
