Michelle Wie’s Off
June 7th, 2007 by Olaf Bound.s
A great deal has been mentioned of this 16 year old “phenom”. She drives the ball further than most men golfers. She is gorgeous and can really play. But will she be an “Anna Kornikova” or a “Maria Sharapova”? Not to presume that they are not only beauties on their own but also that they both have a tremendous ability to play tennis. Although the latter, we presume would be both a champion and a beauty. The press have given plenty of attention to charter the flight or plight of this prodigious talent.![]()
Last week, reports suggest that she withdrew from the tournament (citing a wrist injury) on the 17th hole of a LPGA tournament. Nothing wrong with that! Only if she had continued, she might have been ruled under the Rule of 88. It states that a non-member who shoots 88 is forced to withdraw and subsequently banned from LPGA co-sponsored events for the remainder of the calendar season. She was already at 16-over. But did she feign the injury or was she just playing poorly? We won’t know, would we? But let’s hope that she will recover well and give Lorena and Anikka a run for their money!

Michelle Wie is very talented player who has not reach her peak yet. She should not be wasting time competing against the men but try to win the LPGA majors 1st.
Anika Soremntam is not happy with her pulling out and 2 days later practiisng for the next tournament.
flsam, June 9th, 2007 at 8:58 amThat certainly look bad for a Pro.
flsam-it seems that everyone is having a field day with her actions. I believe its up to her to prove everyone otherwise.
