Olafbounds gets 5th placing @ Golf tournament
June 25th, 2007 by Olaf Bound.sAha! Just when you thought that Olaf is a mere passenger for a golf tournament! Olaf has proven the critics wrong or have they been proven right? After the previous post on tournament preparation, Golfnick decided to try his luck on joining a small tournament. Okay, so it wasn’t a big USGA tournament but a small step nevertheless. I used up all my skills during this tournament and actually got a 5th placing. Not bad for a 20-handicapper. But I shot a 41 and 49 for a nett score of 90. Did I deserve the win? Hard to say actually. I did everything wrong for instance.
I actually did everything I wanted to but when I was really early, I picked up an additional scorecard to plan my game for the day. But aaarghhh! I couldn’t stick to it! I identified 4 holes in which were only 300-320 metres par fours and what did I do? I took out my driver and made bogeys for these short holes. The game plan was to hit a 5 iron to about 170metres and then a short iron to the greens. But did I do that, NOOOOOO! Seems Olaf can’t practice what he preaches! But nevertheless, Olaf took some snap shots of the event and promises to publish them ASAP to my ardent readers. Yea, that’s you! Keep reading for more info later.

You played very well at 2 under your handicap. Congrats for the 5th placing. All the best for the next tournament. Podium Finish. Ok!
