Restoran Ayam Herbal (Herbal Chicken restaurant)

July 14th, 2007 by Olaf Bound.s

Once in a while, you get the feeling that not everything is life is about golf. But what you have to believe in is that golf does take a part in some decisions that you do in life. Olaf has a great golfing partner, Azni. He has been golfing for nearly 10 or more years. Has a great short game and can take on anyone on his day, barring the tour professionals. But it’s not only about him but how life takes a fine turn on one’s destiny. Who would have thought that this golfer would be selling CHICCKENSSSSS!

Azni's Herbal Chicken restaurantAzni has just opened a restaurant in Sentul Boulevard in Kuala Lumpur. It’s called Restoran Ayam Herbal and man, the nasi lemak (Coconut Milk Rice) itself is really, really good. Best I would dare say in Kuala Lumpur. Its location is in Sentul Boulevard, just behind the Maybank Sentul Boulevard. And who would have thought his franchise business would be doing this well. Apparently, he already has an outlet in Bidor, Perak. The business is doing so well that he has decided to bring it down to KL. But what is this doing in my blog, you say? Of course the reason has to do with golf.

Believe it or not, Azni got the idea from the golf course. How so? It was three years ago, whilst playing with us fellow golfers. He saw a few ayam kampung (real organic chickens) by the rough and said, “I believe that would make a good lunch and dinner.” Olaf not wanting to be left out of a good conversation said “Yeah, people are really into health food nowadays,” and the rest is history.

More on the restaurant. The main delicacy here is the herbal chicken soup which, Azni swears is his secret recipe and cooked only with genuine organic chicken. It is a real treat and prices are really affordable by KL standards. Unfortunately, everything is sold out by 7pm. Well, just try your luck and if you happen to drop by just say “Golfnick suggested this place to me.” I’m sure he’ll charge you more. Hahahahaha! But do check it out if you are in the vicinity around KL!
