Slice or Hook

March 19th, 2007 by Olaf Bound.s

It seems a lot of golfers out there do not appreciate the good art of golf literature. A good examination of these quips will help them immensely. The golf nuts have spoken:

A Slice: It indicates that you either have an out to in swing, over the top or open clubface upon impact. The ball flies (right handed players) off to the left and makes about a 30 degree turn back to the right. It moves your drives from a 250 yard to about 190 yards.

Advise: Not to be mistaken from a power fade. Yes the ones Tiger hits.

A hook: It indicates that the ball starts off on the right and veers fantastically off to the left. Usually out of bounds or deep in the woods. Definitely for the better players. Shows he is not having an in to out swing but doesn’t actually helps your game or scores.

Advise: Definitely not to be mistaken for a draw shot! The pros claim to be the easiest shot to hit and for you beginners out there, by luck!!!

But of course, remember not tell your golf buddies about this article! Coz Olaf knows his strokes by heart!

  • Golf always leaves you screwed! That’s why I write and golf. The golf’s still screwed but at least I can blog about it. Sort of like fantasy island.
